Golden State Warriors wing Draymond Green wants to play four or five more years. The 12-year veteran was selected 35th overall by the Warriors in the 2015 NBA Draft.
In an interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, the four-time All-Star discussed Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors, his focus on winning this season and whether he wants to spend the rest of his career in the Bay Area.
According to some NBA betting sites, the Warriors have the third best odds to win the championship in 2023. A few sportsbooks are giving the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks their highest odds.

“I want to play another four or five more years,” said Draymond Green. “That’s enough for me.” However, the seven-time NBA All-Defensive member probably looked like a different player then.
In 20 starts this season, Green is averaging 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Additionally, he is shooting a career-best 60.2% from the field.
Additionally, he is shooting 32% from deep and posting a career-high true shooting percentage of 65.1%. On Sunday, Green completed his first double-double of the season in the Warriors’ 137-114 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In 33 minutes, Green collected 19 points, four boards, 11 assists and two blocks. He shot 6-for-7 (85.7%) from the floor and missed a shot from beyond the arc.

During the offseason, while on a YouTube podcast, Green was asked what city he would want to play for if he left the Warriors. The 32-year-old listed Dallas, Detroit and Los Angeles. In an interview with Spurs, he was asked about trade rumors involving him, the Lakers and the Warriors.
“I didn’t say that,” Green said of wanting to play with the Lakers. “People can say what they want. And I’m not one to respond too much to what someone says. I respond to things when I want to respond to it. I don’t respond to things just because someone says it.”
Of course, Green is primarily focused on helping the Warriors win another championship this season. He is just as hungry to win another chip as Stephen Curry. But the team continued to fight. Golden State is 11-11 and ninth overall in the Western Conference standings.
With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green BOTH 8 assists, the Warriors win 94%(!!).

The Warriors have a $27,586,224 player option for the 2023-24 season. If he decides to hit the open market next summer, this will be his last season with Golden State.
“I have to make decisions, and you make them as best you can,” Green said. “But for me, my focus is on the season. I’m focused on winning. We let those things play out the way they play out.
“Because one thing’s for sure, they’re going to play on time, and time will go on. And so, I’m going to focus on the present and what I can do for this team right now. All of that can happen as it happens.”
Does Draymond Green want to leave the Warriors because he wants to continue playing in the future? If not, another contract extension could be on the horizon.
