Webb Simpson will be at Quail Hollow on his home course for the Presidents Cup in September, but without the clubs. Simpson and Steve Stricker were added as assistant captains for Davis Love III.
Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson and Fred will join the pair as assistants for the September 22-25 matches against the international team.
Stricker He was the Presidents Cup captain in 2017 and joins Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the only captains to win both the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. Last year at Whistling Straits, he beat the USA in a European record win. Johnson is the Ryder Cup captain for the 2023 matches in Italy and the pair are 3-0 as President Cup captains.
The new man is Simpson, who has played on three Presidents Cup teams, most recently at Royal Melbourne in 2019. He also played in three Ryder Cup matches.
